This new tourist opportunity, combining nature, culture and sport, is a pleasure for any visitor. Whether on foot, riding a horse or bicycle, this route allows you to enjoy unique surroundings due to its vast expanse and rich biodiversity. We are currently working on the connection with the Ebro Delta.

The Green Way project began in 1993 and reuses the former railroad tracks, existing for many decades but now in disuse, as non-motorised vehicle routes for cyclists, walkers, skaters, disabled people, horses, etc. in order to promote a new leisure culture. The project is based on ecological and cultural sustainability, implies regeneration of neglected areas, promoting greater understanding of nature and encouraging active and ecological tourism.

Our Green Way runs along the former railway track of the Zafán Valley.

The total length of the route in the Baix Ebre region is 22.4 km. It starts in Tortosa and continues through Roquetas, EMD de Jesús, Aldover, and Xerta and Benifallet. There is a slope of 45.6 m, with low difficulty and the path is covered with eco-friendly tarmac. It crosses over several bridges, aqueducts and well-lit tunnels and is surrounded by trees and mountains of great scenic beauty. Drinking water can be found in Aldover and Xerta.

Once it reaches Benifallet, it joins the Terra Alta track in the Pinell de Brai District. It then leaves this municipality and runs through the sanctuary of Fontcalda, Prat de Comte, Bot, Horta de Sant Joan and Arnes. This section of the path is 23.6 km long with the same difficulty level and path surface as the first stretch. Drinking water can be found in Fontcalda and Bot.
