Description
Small and rectangular, with a straight closing of the apse, it is located in Horta de Pimpí, already documented in the Christian conquest as Horta de Pampino.
A semicircular arch separates the nave, with its heart and niches, from the presbytery, presided over by the adoration of the Three Magi in relief, of neoclassical inspiration. The facade has a semi-circular vaulted door, a niche and a belfry
The tradition affirms that it was built by Carlos III.
It was demolished in 1810, built again in 1821 and restored in 1981.
Cels Gomis i Mestre, geologist, engineer, folklorist, scientific disseminator and anarchist writer, published a song of nostalgia on earth that is referenced in his work Follies particulars de Fraga, Mequinensa i de Tortosa:
“Adéu, masos de Bítem
i també los de Tivenys;
adéu les xiques de l'horta
de la Capella dels Reis.”
The devotion to the Magi denounces and proves the existence of a pilgrimage route to Santiago de Galícia and Tortosa, in fact, it is the entrance and exit to the Camino de Santiago del Ebro.
The day of the Epiphany is the tradition that the Three Magi, who have participated in the Cavalgata de Tortosa, attend mass at 12 o'clock, accompanied by the authorities of the city.
