After New Year’s Eve, Tortosa celebrates the most magical night of the year for many children, January 5, with a large cavalcade<\/strong> starring the Three Wise Men. In addition to their Majesties, there are also fairy tale characters participating in the procession to delight the kids. For lovers of mangers<\/strong>, in Jesus there is a big living one, as well as an exhibition of dioramas and mangers in the crypt of the Reparation of Tortosa. To squeeze out the last days of the holidays, Nadal Jove<\/strong> (“Young Christmas”) is organized, with many activities for children, as well as an ice rink<\/strong> in the middle of the town hall square.<\/p>

Also in February, in the Museum of Tortosa<\/strong> we will find the works of the Francesc Gimeno Painting Prize, which allows us to take the pulse of the most current painting. Tortosa celebrates the arrival of Carnival<\/strong> with a popular parade in the hermitage of Mig Cam\u00ed on “Fat Thursday”. When Carnival arrives, the people of Jesus organize a parade of costumes and a mask dance. At the end of February, Jes\u00fas also celebrates the excellent Oil Fair<\/strong> and a tapas route that the establishments prepare specifically for the occasion.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The Felip Pedrell Auditorium<\/strong> hosts a wide range of theater, dance and circus programs throughout the year, as well as shows for the kids on Sundays. This is an inescapable appointment for the lovers of the collecting. The city also hosts, on the first Saturday of the month, a meeting of artists and artisans, where you can find paintings, jewelry, decoration and all kinds of handmade creations. Very important in the field of gastronomy is the Festast<\/strong> fair, which is held biannually with a large number of exhibitors and showcookings.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Easter<\/strong> is a very important celebration in the city, with crowded processions such as the Passion, or the procession of Silence, which takes place at midnight. During this month, the Tortosa English Festival<\/strong> is held, with activities open to everyone where only English can be spoken. In the field of culture, Jes\u00fas hosts, a few days before Sant Jordi, the Joan Cid i Mulet Fair, with book presentations and literary proposals. The diada de Sant Jordi<\/strong> (St. George’s Day) is also very endearing in the city, as the good spring weather makes Tortosa an ideal place to walk and enjoy a good book and a rose.<\/div><\/div><\/div>
