Description
Lo Secret de la Catedral is an outdoor escape room that invites visitors to discover Tortosa's historical heritage in an original and interactive way. Using their mobile phones, participants explore the streets of the old town, solve puzzles, examine architectural details and follow clues to uncover a mystery dating back more than 600 years.
This self-guided experience combines history, technology and entertainment. In addition, it introduces participants to different heritage sites across the city through ten challenges that test their observation skills, curiosity and ability to work as a team.
Lo Secret de la Catedral: an adventure of mystery and history
The story of Lo Secret de la Catedral begins in 1414, when Brother Bernat, an archivist at Tortosa Cathedral, discovers a hidden library containing knowledge from different historical periods and cultures.
According to the game's storyline, Brother Bernat divides the map leading to the library into ten fragments to protect this valuable legacy. He then conceals each piece behind a puzzle connected to Tortosa's history and heritage.
As a result, participants must complete ten challenges to reconstruct the map and uncover the secret. Each challenge represents a virtue: wisdom, observation, curiosity, perseverance, respect, memory, courage, humility, cooperation and responsibility.
Discover Tortosa's heritage through play
The experience transforms Tortosa's old town into the setting for an adventure filled with mystery. To progress, participants must observe their surroundings, interpret architectural details and solve puzzles inspired by the city's history.
Furthermore, the route introduces visitors to Tortosa's medieval and Renaissance heritage, its Jewish legacy and places associated with the city's collective memory.
In this way, the adventure extends beyond the Cathedral and encourages participants to explore different corners of the historic centre. At the same time, each challenge offers a new opportunity to discover Tortosa's past through an engaging, hands-on experience.
A self-guided outdoor escape room using your mobile phone
Unlike a conventional guided tour, this experience can be completed independently. Participants use a web-based platform accessible from their mobile phones to follow the storyline and solve the challenges.
Therefore, visitors become the main characters in the adventure, using their problem-solving skills, observation and teamwork to move forward.
Moreover, the activity is particularly suitable for families, young people and groups looking for an entertaining way to explore Tortosa's cultural heritage.
