Description

Listening to live music while cruising along the Ebro is a different way to experience Tortosa and its river. Concerts on the Ebro with Lo Sirgador combine a river cruise with live performances on board, creating an experience where landscape, music and heritage share the same stage.

For approximately 90 minutes, the traditional riverboat cruises along Tortosa’s riverfront and its surroundings while live music is performed on board. Each departure has its own programme, featuring different artists and musical styles. In addition, Lo Sirgador regularly takes part in cultural events in the city, including the Tortosa Jazz Festival, which has featured concerts on board in several consecutive editions.

Concerts on the Ebro: live music on the river

Here, the stage is constantly moving. After boarding in Tortosa, Lo Sirgador sets off and the landscape of the Ebro begins to unfold around you. A brief introduction provides some context for the route before the music takes centre stage.

The intimate setting on board creates a close connection with the musicians. Moreover, the scenery changes as the concert progresses. The city, bridges, riverside vegetation and river islands become part of an ever-changing backdrop.

In this way, the experience goes beyond a conventional live performance. The movement of the boat, the sounds of the river and the changing views of Tortosa naturally become part of the concert.

Tortosa from Lo Sirgador

Cruising along the Ebro offers an opportunity to see Tortosa from a perspective closely connected to its history. For centuries, the river was an important communication route and played an essential role in the development of the city.

From the water, the relationship between Tortosa and the Ebro can be appreciated in a different way. In fact, the cruise gradually leaves the urban landscape behind, revealing the natural and agricultural areas along the riverbanks.

Depending on the scheduled route, Lo Sirgador may cruise upstream towards Illa de la Xiquina or downstream towards Illa dels Bous. The concert therefore also becomes an opportunity to discover the river landscape surrounding Tortosa.

Music and sunset over the Ebro

Some departures take place during the final hours of the day. On these occasions, the changing evening light adds another dimension to the experience as Lo Sirgador continues along the river.

The reflections on the water, riverside vegetation and mountains on the horizon provide a natural backdrop to the music. For this reason, each concert is also shaped by the season, the departure time and the landscape of the Ebro on that particular day.

Concerts on the Ebro are not associated with a single musical genre. The programme has featured a variety of performers and styles, giving each departure its own character. However, one element remains constant: the combination of live music and river cruising.

Lo Sirgador and the Tortosa Jazz Festival

Music on board has also become part of one of Tortosa’s major cultural events. Lo Sirgador regularly takes part in the Tortosa Jazz Festival, with concerts that bring part of the festival programme directly onto the Ebro.

This collaboration has continued over several consecutive editions. In 2026, for example, the festival programme included Danielle, del Sena a l’Ebre, a live jazz performance during a 90-minute cruise.

In addition, this format brings together two distinctive aspects of Tortosa’s cultural and visitor experience: an established music festival and the opportunity to explore the Ebro by boat.

Every concert is a different experience

Concerts on the Ebro do not follow a single calendar or repertoire. Dates, artists, departure times and conditions vary according to each programme. Therefore, it is advisable to check the available departures before planning your visit.

This variety is also part of the experience. A jazz concert, an acoustic performance or an evening cruise can transform the same stretch of river into something completely different.

Finally, the experience means there is no need to choose between music and landscape. Step aboard Lo Sirgador, leave the landing stage behind and listen to live music as the Ebro guides the journey: a distinctive way to experience music while discovering Tortosa’s river landscape.
