Climbing wall in Tortosa: indoor climbing

The climbing wall in Tortosa is a dedicated indoor facility where climbers can practise in a purpose-built environment. UEC Tortosa manages the climbing activities, and the facility is used for regular practice as well as training and skills development.

The climbing wall provides different opportunities to progress. As a result, its varied wall profiles, routes and arrangement of holds make it possible to practise different movements and techniques.

Alongside individual climbing, the facility is also used for training and sports activities organised by UEC Tortosa.

12 metres high with routes up to 22 metres

One of the main features of the climbing wall is its size. The facility reaches 12 metres in height and provides approximately 250 m² of climbable surface.

Its walls incorporate around 2,000 holds, allowing routes with different characteristics to be set. In addition, some routes can reach 22 metres in length, making use of the different profiles of the structure.

Another notable feature is the 16-metre-long roof section, which offers more demanding climbing and increases the variety of movements that can be practised during training.

Climbing training and skills development

The climbing wall is designed both for recreational climbing and for learning and improving climbing techniques.

UEC Tortosa organises activities related to climbing instruction, including opportunities for learning and improving skills. In this way, the facility helps introduce new climbers to the sport while also providing a training space for those with previous experience.

Moreover, the variety of routes makes it possible to work on different aspects of climbing, including technique, endurance and progression on the wall.

An indoor space for climbing

Located inside the Ferreries Municipal Sports Pavilion, the climbing wall provides an indoor facility for practising the sport.

Thus, it complements the many opportunities for climbing and mountain activities available in Tortosa and the Terres de l’Ebre, particularly around the Els Ports massif.

Finally, its dimensions, variety of routes and connection with UEC Tortosa make the climbing wall suitable for both learning and developing climbing skills.
