Description

Sant Roc Recreation Area is located in the municipal boundary of Paüls, next to Sant Roc's hermitage.

It is a shade area of holm oaks with a source of several springs that come out of the rock. It is equipped with dry stone tables and benches called corros. Each corro belongs to a local family and they meet three times a year to celebrate the feast of Sant Roc, the feast of Saint Anthony and Easter Monday. Behind the hermitage there is a small playground.

The area has barbecues. For the use of these barbecues you need to apply for permission from Paüls City Council.

Check out Els Ports Natural Park three walking itineraries: Font del Teix, Font del Teix-Font dels Ullals and Pla de l'Hedra.

How to get there: From Tortosa, take the C-12 road to Móra d'Ebre and after 10 km take the TV-3541 road to Paüls. At the entrance of the village, where is the truck scale, there is a street sign to Sant Roc's hermitage. Continue to the left on an asphalted road that surrounds the lower part of the village and after 2.2 km you get to the Sant Roc Recreation Area. You can park in either of the two enabled parking areas.
