Description

It is located on avinguda Generalitat, in front of the majestic Teodor Gonzàlez Municipal Park, on one of the two axes that make up the main modernist extension in the Temple area. Even being surrounded by other modernist buildings and its low height, a flat, it needs no effort to stand out among these for its great monumentality.

It is an outstanding modernist work by the architect Pau Monguió i Segura in the second period of his stay in Tortosa and was built in 1923 on behalf of the promoter David Pinyana Domingo. The first floor has an exterior facade conceived as a grandstand and is divided into three sections by parabolic and half-pointed arches, outlined with trencadís decoration. The lower part of the windows shows a balcony-like grating with an ornate windowsill and on the upper part a kind of natural garlands. Here the decorative and formal diversity that uses the tiles, the vegetal patterns and the forge to surprise. The rosettes of the large windows and the singular cresting, a stone and iron railing stand out, and, in summary, it shows the influence exerted by the work of Antoni Gaudí.

Recently, the facade has been restored.
